Wild Legs

This laidback, walk-in only wine bar is just the ticket for a slow Saturday afternoon. The wine list revolves around natural, organic and biodynamic wines, and the food menu is equally impressive. Think snacks to linger over — charcuterie, mortadella brioche, oysters, and stracciatella with roasted pineapple

Ruby, My Dear

Combining a selection of life’s greatest pleasures — vinyl, Japanese food and a creative cocktail menu — Ruby, My Dear is your home away from home. The relaxed, low-lit interiors lend a curated living room atmosphere, whilst the Japanese flavours woven throughout the food and drinks list keep things fun. You can expect regular vinyl DJs on the decks and a warm welcome to furry friends. What more could you want?

Miss Manhattan

New York is a classic, and it’s that timeless energy Miss Manhattan is channelling. Ambient lighting, timeless cocktails and a curated Australian wine list set the scene. From there, it’s all about elevated modern American snacks in dainty bite-sized morsels. Think stick-thin golden French fries, Reuben croquettes and Manhattan sliders, with a seafood offering running alongside. Regular live tunes round out the offering.

If you fancy sipping alfresco, make your way out to Miss Manhattan’s fairly light-strewn alley for a distinctly New York moment.

Niky

With stools spilling out onto the pavement and a single communal table within, Niky‘s low-key wine cave exudes a European feel. Whilst the hole-in-the-wall location is as low-key as they come, the exceptional menu is anything but. Quality ingredients meet a snack menu to die for, featuring rotating delicacies like tuna crudo, banh mi, tartare, housemade breads and dips and oysters.

If you like your wines a little funky, you’re in for a treat.

Bar Monte

Whilst primarily a restaurant, Bar Monte’s impressive 100-bottle wine list, cosy nooks and delish snack menu earn it a spot on this list. If you’re looking for an elegant bar with a refined menu, this is it.

The menu hits that sweet spot between classic and contemporary, with dishes like Ortiz anchovy toast with smoked tomato butter, mortadella buns spiked with limoncello aioli, and yellowfin tuna with pineapple, green chilli and koji mayo. Pasta lovers won’t be disappointed — it’s fresh and handmade, from paccheri alla vodka with nduja and stracciatella to pappardelle bolognese with wagyu ragu and fried sage.

On the drinks front, sommelier Andrea Martinisi has curated a tight yet impressive list of just under 100 bottles spanning Australia, Italy, and France.
