The Best Kid-Friendly Events at Adelaide Fringe Festival 2025

Adelaide's most epic event of the year is almost here! The Adelaide Fringe Festival is a fabulous staple for locals and the thousands of national and international visitors who visit South Australia for the month-long arts festival.

While there are plenty of cheeky, spicy and frankly, adults-only shows for the grown-ups in the 2025 lineup, we're happy to report the kids are in for a treat, too! Embodying the magic, colour, sounds and exploration that fill children with wonder and excitement, the best kid-friendly events at the Adelaide Fringe Festival promise to delight your little ones!

Mario the Maker Magician

Robots, magic and laughs galore! Mario is the endlessly charming magician putting on a high-energy, heartwarming show packed with belly laughs and surprise emotions.

Perfect for all ages, the whole family can enjoy Mario's world of innovation, with a dazzling mix of inspiration, performance and fun. Having wowed audiences on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Sesame Street, and taking home the award for Best Kids & Family Show at Fringe in 2024, you don't want to miss this magic!

The Roundhouse at The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Rundle Park, Adelaide

Upsound Instruments: Make & Play Workshop Area

Bang, blow, hammer, pluck, strum and create! Your little ones can let their imagination take control at this hands-on workshop, crafting playable instruments from upcycled materials. Broken bits, natural finds and even pieces of trash will be transformed into musical masterpieces that kids can keep. Will they make a drum, a horn, or a guitar? Led by Dutch sound artist and violinist Jacob Plooij, this Australian premiere is a fun, family-friendly experience that’s sure to strike a chord!

Sitchu tip: this experience is open to all skills and abilities - if your child has a special access requirement, include this in your booking so the team can make adjustments.

The Giant Balloon Show

This hilarious show will pull belly laughs from the whole family! The Giant Balloon Show combines an award-winning entertainer, an epic 80's soundtrack (that may be for the grownups rather than the kids to enjoy), and, naturally, a giant balloon. Expect gags, tricks and great music at this Fringe favourite by Dizzy O'Dare.

The Lab at Fool's Paradise, Victoria Square, Adelaide

The Pinky Pie Party

The Pinky Pie Party returns to Fringe, bigger, better and brighter than ever! The kids will love this one - 50 minutes of non-stop fun with confetti canons, bubbles, face paint, dress-ups, craft areas and pyrotechnics that will have everyone on their feet from toddlers to grandparents.

Headlined by eight-year-old DJ Alba Lorca, the Fringe veteran (yes, you read that right) returns for a third year with fresh tracks, exciting guests and special effects. It's the hottest party of the season!

Josh Staley - Wacky Wizardry Goes Wrong

Step into a world of magic and mayhem with Josh, an aspiring wizard whose hilarious mishaps make for an unforgettable show. Fast-paced, wildly interactive and hilarious, this magical extravaganza is perfect for kids and the young at heart. 

In this show, the audience takes centre stage in an experience packed with illusions and a few tricks for little wizards in the making to continue the spellbound adventure at home!

Kidchella

Inspired by one of the most iconic music festivals in the world, Kidchella promises a dance party for creative kids! Let your wild child dance like no one is watching with DJ Zoe Sheridan playing the best pop hits. With bubbles, games, and prizes, you'll likely want to join in the fun yourself!

Floopy's Fuzzled Feelings

Meet Floopy, a frazzled little monster with some seriously big emotions. Sometimes bursting with fantastic feels, other times caught in fiery frenzies, Floopy is on a mission to figure it all out - where are these big feelings everyone keeps talking about?

Join the fun on a hilarious, interactive, and multi-sensory journey as the audience helps Floopy unfuzzle emotions. Perfect for little ones, this heartwarming show explores age-appropriate ways to talk about feelings and discover practical strategies to recognise and manage them. Big emotions have never been so much fun!

Bubba-Licious

Let's not forget about the smallest members of the family! Created as a safe space for tiny tots to roam and explore, Bubba-Licious is a colour, light, movement and sound display. Watch little faces transform in wonder as they explore their senses through bubbles, shadow play and puppetry. Selling out for the last five years running, be quick to snag a spot!

Kidstock

Rock with Kidstock! This pint-sized music fest is packed with original tunes and covers, hilarious comedy and fun, totally relatable stories. 

Brought to you by cabaret duo Libby & Matt, it’s a safe, sensory-friendly space to sing, dance, laugh, and even cry! With pub classics and bangers, this interactive live music show promises fun for kids and their grown-ups.
