Rise & Shine With the Best Breakfast in Adelaide

From build your own Benny’s to boozy brunches, here's where you'll find the best breakfast in Adelaide to start your day off right.

Yolk

Ah, breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Time to fill up on food loaded with energy to power you through whatever you face that day, or simply revive you from the night before. The most versatile meal with options as nourishing as acai bowls for the health-conscious, grease-filled fry ups for the hangovers, or perhaps a stack of pancakes for the sweet-toothed among us.

Whatever your brekky preference, we’ve rounded up the cosy cafes to hit up for the best breakfast in Adelaide, across the city, surrounding suburbs, and Adelaide Hills.

Best Breakfast in Adelaide: CBD

My Kingdom for a Horse

My Kingdom for a Horse

At award-winning My Kingdom for a Horse, find exceptional coffee from beans sourced from renowned producers around the world. Coffee addicts flock here for their morning cuppa Joe, knowing the team are constantly on the hunt for uniquely flavourful coffee that sets them apart, with an eye for both espresso and filter brewing.

Once your coffee order is sorted, find a spot in the 120-seat café, and dig into a hearty meal of pumpkin & kasundi polenta slice topped with avo smash, spicy pumpkin & beetroot hummus, or go for the sweet option with tiramisu waffles with mascarpone, kingdom coffee syrup & chocolate scrolls.

Crack Kitchen

Crack Kitchen

Located in an old inner-city bank, Crack Kitchen’s refined Scandi digs are home to its own in-house specialty coffee roastery and banging brunch plates that change with the seasons. Light, bright and oh-so-chic, for breakfast you can’t go past the matcha pannacotta with pink pepper meringue, or the French toast with apple custard, vanilla ice cream and berries – equal parts indulgent and fresh. For something lighter, try the raisin toast with raspberry labneh, mango and coconut.

Paddy Barry's

Paddy Barry’s

A welcomed addition to the southern residential enclave of the CBD, Paddy Barry's is well and truly an Adelaide affair. Coffee in Common are the beans of choice and their cold brew has proven itself a locals’ favourite during those sweltering days. The minimal chic café is perennially packed with java enthusiasts, and their worldly food menu includes both café classics (think beans and bagels) as well as more exotic numbers.
