Monarto Safari Resort Unveils Its New Luxury Safari Escape
Wake up steps from wildlife and wide-open plains.
South Australia’s outback has a new rhythm. Safari Lodge, the latest accommodation offering at Monarto Safari Resort, opens April 2nd, 2026, inviting guests to step closer to the park’s Wild Africa precinct than ever before.
Twenty luxury safari tents and a central lodge circle a tranquil waterhole, where giraffes, zebras, nyala, and ostriches roam freely, creating a constantly shifting panorama of the bush.
Each tent blends style and immersion: king or twin beds, ensuite bathrooms, private dressing rooms, and lounges that spill directly onto the plains. Two accessibility tents ensure all visitors can share the view, while swimming and plunge pools, a gym, and a pickleball court offer options for activity — or quiet observation.
Packages start from AU$2,920 per tent and include two-day access to Monarto Safari Park, a Wild Africa Sunset Safari Experience, all meals from breakfast to bespoke three-course dinners, afternoon canapés, and all-day beverages, from coffee and tea to wine, beer, and spirits.
For those wanting to linger even longer, the recently opened Marula Day Spa offers a peaceful retreat just steps from the lodge. Named after the African Marula tree, the spa blends massages, facials, and body rituals in treatment rooms overlooking the plains. Guests can soak in the Vitality Pool, refresh in the cold plunge, or simply sink into the calm of the bush as wildlife drifts past.
Since its launch in May 2025, Monarto Safari Resort has welcomed 19,000 visitors from across Australia and beyond. South Australian Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison says the addition of Safari Lodge is an outstanding complement to the safari park and to South Australia, and offers a rare chance to experience nature in its purest form.
