Haberfield Suburb Profile
Haberfield’s European influence makes this small neighbourhood a popular stop for food lovers. Living in Haberfield means enjoying the cluster of Italian-infused shopfronts along Ramsay Street, which have stolen the show from Leichhardt. Family-run businesses have been feeding locals for generations. Delis, pasticcerias, and restaurants—Haberfield boasts some of the finest traditional Nonna-style Italian food. Great food, wide streets—Haberfield is one good-looking suburb that has its own slither of waterfront on Iron Cove, where small boats are moored and the University of Technology Sydney rowers are out at the crack of dawn.
The neighbourhood has well-kept parks on three sides that provide playgrounds for families and fitness junkies. Living in Haberfield offers access to Dobroyd Point and Robson Park, which form part of the popular Bay Run, and there are barbeque facilities and small boat access to the bay.
Area Features
Bay Run
The Bay Run is a 7 kilometre trail that runs around Iron Cove, never deviating more than 20 metres from the water. You can start and finish your loop at any point along the trail.
Ramsay Street Village
This village may be small in size but it’s full of Italian-inspired delis, bakeries, pasticcerias and restaurants. The great thing is, you can either buy the freshest pasta and antipasto in town to cook yourself, or have it cooked for you.
Federation Homes
Locals are proud of their Federation-style homes and keep them beautifully maintained.
A well-established neighbourhood with a distinct European flavour, Haberfield is home to many families as well as empty nesters reluctant to let go of their family homes.
