Watch the Fireworks Along Lake Burley Griffin
Fireworks are something that you can never tire of, and every year, there’s a dazzling display along Lake Burley Griffin. Make a night out of it, pack a picnic, and pick a prime viewing spot at one of the four celebration hubs: Rond Terrace, Wendouree Drive, John Dunmore Lang Place (Commonwealth Place), and Ferry Gate (Regatta Point).
The night kicks off at 6 pm with local DJs spinning tracks at each of the celebration hubs and food trucks serving celebratory bites. Fireworks will then kick off at 9pm and midnight, lighting up the sky and launching us into a whole new year.

Carnavalè Takes Canberra
Mark 2026 with Highball’s Carnavalè party! The dress code is bold, festive and colourful, and the event will match the same brief with samba dance performances, tropical punch bowls and a welcome cocktail upon arrival.
Located above Northbourne Avenue, you can share a celebratory toast on the terrace and soak in the stunning views of the city and lakeside fireworks. There’ll also be a DJ and a pumping dance floor going well into the early hours of the brand-new year.
