The Locals

Living in Fitzroy North is easy, with the charismatic vibe of this inner-city suburb making it feel more like a stylish village. This in-demand neighbourhood has low-key cool covered, with chic bars and bustling cafés, all within easy reach of the CBD and the bright lights of Fitzroy. Locals can’t get enough of this vibrant area.

It’s safe to say that living in Fitzroy North excels when it comes to all things lifestyle. Whether it’s iconic bakeries with their perfect sourdough loaves, the famed deli section of Piedimonte’s supermarket, or stylish organic grocers and sophisticated wine bars – top-shelf quality reigns supreme. St George’s Road, the area’s main artery, is home to an impressive roster of restaurants that deal in everything from more-ish Moroccan vegetarian fare (you’re welcome to bring your own Tupperware and dine in the park), to punchy Mexican, inventive Indian street food, and some of the best pizza found in Melbourne (and that’s really saying something).

And then there’s Edinburgh Gardens. The epicentre of this lovely neighbourhood is one of the city’s most cherished parks and a prime summer picnic spot. You’ll find it alive with dog walkers, tennis players, skaters, and food-laden groups throughout the year.

All in all, it’s clear to see that what Fitzroy North lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm.

Area Features

Pinic Time

Come summertime, you can hardly move in Edinburgh Gardenswithout stepping on a brightly coloured picnic blanket strewn withcheery revellers.

Fine Produce

Organic fruit and veg, loaves and sweet treats fresh from the oven, andan endless array of cheeses and cured meats–Fitzroy North is a havenfor lovers of fine produce.

Drinking and Dining

For a small suburb, Fitzroy North is well and truly punching above itsweight when it comes to all things drinking and dinin.

Befitting its picturesque looks and impressive set up, Fitzroy North is rather pricy. This means that the students who once filled its streets are becoming scarce, replaced by cashed up city workers who can’t get enough of the area’s prime location and thriving drinking and dining scene.Older couples and young families also flock to this delightful neighbourhood’s beautiful terrace homes, drawn by park views, the warm community feeling and friendly (and delicious) café scene.
