The Locals

Living in Avoca offers a unique lifestyle that combines a holiday vibe with a close-knit community feel. It may be a summer hotspot, but residents appreciate Avoca Beach’s laid-back yet active lifestyle year-round. The beach is the suburb’s beating heart, where locals are often seen swimming in the ocean, exploring rock pools, or catching waves. The lush surroundings provide a children’s playground, dog-friendly areas, and a lagoon that’s popular for kayaking, canoeing, and boating. Living in Avoca also means enjoying the community spirit that thrives in the monthly Avoca Beachside Markets. Held every fourth Sunday, the markets feature over 120 stalls offering everything from art to fresh produce, with live music from local musicians.

One of the standout events in Avoca is the 5 Lands Walk, celebrating the Central Coast’s multiculturalism. This coastal walk from Macmasters Beach to Terrigal includes free events at each beach along the way and coincides with the annual humpback whale migration. Avoca Village offers a variety of cafés, restaurants, shops, and grocery stores, while nearby Erina and Terrigal have larger shopping complexes. Avoca Beach has become a go-to for food lovers across the region, and the local family-run cinema and pub remain cherished community spots.
