Cocktail Making Class at Brix Distillery 

Brix offers a full distillery experience in the heart of the city and it's not just any old spirits that are made here. Brix handcrafts rum as you've never known it. Boutique, and made using locally sourced and native ingredients, get ready to meet your favourite new spirit. 

Every Saturday Brix runs two cocktail workshops that include a tour of the distillery and guidance on crafting two delicious cocktails. 

If you're ready to level up even further, join them for a rum spicing masterclass on a Sunday where you'll use spice, fruit and nut infusions to flavour two 200ml bottles of rum to take home. We think this one might just take the cake for fun group activities in Sydney.

Little Lane Workshops on the Northern Beaches is one of Sydney’s best DIY studios. There are new classes added all the time, with Little Lane currently teaching around 17 different workshop that range from hand lettering and calligraphy to basketry and jewellery making. CoCreate Studio

CoCreate Studio provide the ultimate space to indulge in a relaxing few hours of creation. Whilst they do run a handful of guided painting classes per week, the real drawcard here is their drop in studio time. All materials are provided for your two hour session of either fluid art, canvas painting or decorating of your own mirror. Attendees are encouraged to bring drinks and snacks for maximum enjoyment.

I Maccheroni 

If you're an Italian fan and you haven't yet eaten at I Maccheroni, we've got a bone to pick with you. But that's an entirely different matter for another time. Today we're here to share the news that you can now learn from their master chef how to cook their incredible delicacies for yourself, from scratch! 

The choice is between arancini, fresh pasta or gnocchi (and is chosen on what the majority vote for). The intimate group of six is perfect for learning and squeezing all your questions in. Your ticket price scores you your class, an I Maccheroni tote bag, limoncello and a recipe card!

ClassBento

ClassBento is an absolute goldmine when it comes to finding unique activities. Artisans from all over Sydney are able to list their classes which often allow flexibility for full-time workers to attend. You'll find everything from Spanish guitar lessons to dumpling making classes and even glass blowing. Our sneaky favourite? The Ikebana workshops. This class involves using fresh flowers to make traditional minimalist Japanese arrangements. A must-try for flower lovers and creatives of all kinds! 

Crockd 

Crockd are all about the most relaxed version of organised fun imaginable. Their two hour classes provided the ideal amount of guidance and fun. Choose from a numnber of groovy projects including slab vases, pottery incense sculptures, booty mugs and wheel throwing. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of spending two hours moulding clay, you better gear up for a good time as this is one of the best creative workshops in all of Sydney!

Archie Rose 

For something a little more engaging than dinner and drinks this weekend, consider popping by Archie Rose for one of their immersive masterclasses. Hosted in the exceptionally moody barrel room, you'll be able to learn a little history whilst blending and making either your own gin, whiskey or cocktails. You'll also be able to order from the Archie Rose bar menu should you fancy a cheeseboard or sandwich to enjoy your lesson with.

Cork and Chroma

Cork and Chroma combine’s painting and wine to create a fabulous night out. Hop into the studio and learn how to paint one of their many set artworks with expert guidance from a supervising artist. The best part is, it's BYO and you can drink throughout the lesson. The studio provides all the materials you'll need, including wine glasses, and takes three hours in total.

Work-Shop Sydney

This little hub has a wide range of courses from popular and trendy to the more obscure. Think taxidermy, welding and tarot reading. All courses are led by experts and will have you up-skilled within two-three hours. For the inner-artist, the drunk painting and expressive watercolour florals are Work-Shop favourites. Or try arm-knitting and paper marbling masterclasses.

Book a Lane at Kingpin 

If you're looking for a large venue to hang with pals, head to Kingpin. With full air conditioning cranked up, you'll find all the old-school fun of your younger years. Challenge the group to a game of bowling or a laser gun battle or try your hand at an escape room, karaoke or a range of arcade games.

North Strathfield and Macarthur Square 

The Pottery Shed

Bring out your inner Demi Moore (Ghost, anyone?) at The Pottery Shed. They offer beginner classes which cover everything from throwing, trimming and glazing in three, two-hour sessions. Once you have mastered that you can book either for a returning student session or join one of the weekly masterclasses where you can up-skill with mold-making and slip-casting.

The Lower North Shore’s DIY hub, Maker’s Loft is where crafters and creatives go to hang out. You can book a guided session to create terrariums, clay sculpture or soy candles or grab a membership which grants you regular access to the studio and/or kiln.

Arthouse Hotel

BYO charcoals and capture the beautiful human form in all its glory. Arthouse runs life-drawing classes each Monday night from the Attic Bar, giving you the opportunity to improve your technique and get creative. At just $7 a session, it's a bit of a bargain, too!
