We’re Mentally Checked Into MCM House’s Dreamy Byron Bay Retreat
A house so beautiful we're mentally moving in. And the good news is: they're giving you the chance to stay!
Somewhere between the rise of dinner parties, Sunday baking rituals and our renewed obsession with analogue hobbies and IRL connections, the way we think about our homes has shifted. Increasingly, it’s less about how a space looks and more about how it feels. Where we once stripped interiors back to white walls, grey furniture and clean lines, we’re now leaning into personality. Texture. Depth. Warmth. And at the heart of it all? A return to lived-in spaces that genuinely feel alive.
This growing appetite for slower, more intentional living sits at the heart of MCM House’s new campaign, Umbria Stay. Set within Byron Bay’s Casa Avalon and starring chef Pip Sumbak, the short film taps into the rhythm underpinning a well-lived home: music playing, meals being made, people gathering, lingering, and the furniture that holds space for it all.
Each MCM House piece featured feels deeply luxurious and unpretentious in the same breath, with relaxed earthy tones and natural materials giving the Byron Bay retreat a refined, lived-in feel.
Inside, the Leni entertainment unit in Khaki Brown gloss and Travertine Rocco Rectangle Coffee Table hold collected treasures while introducing soft textural contrast. The Paton table lamp in Portugal Beige Marble sets the ambience. And the Riley Rug and Baxx Modula sofa in Tusk invites cosy nights with nowhere to rush off to.
While outside, the Kora Rectangular Dining Table paired with the Outdoor Rowe II Dining Chairs practically scream for Sunday lunches that stretch into sunset.
The entire campaign feels like a love letter to living well, and with furniture this effortlessly cool, that hardly feels difficult.
If watching Umbria Stay has you mentally moving in, you’re in luck. MCM House is offering one lucky winner the chance to experience it firsthand, with a lush two-night stay at Casa Avalon up for grabs. Entering is simple: just head to MCM House and tell them what slowing down looks like to you.
