The Coolest Lamps to Brighten Up Your Home

I don’t have many house rules, but there is one I’m pretty firm on: no big overhead lights in the living room, ever. The ambient glow of a good table lamp (or three) is much more my speed, especially late at night. And turns out, the warmer, softer light mimics the natural hues of sunset, which helps our blue-light-obsessed brains finally kick into rest mode. A much-needed leg up in the sleep health department if, like me, you spend too much time glued to your devices. Plus, I’m honestly just a sucker for good lamp design. They serve as both a practical light source as well as a mood setter and piece of sculptural art that transforms each time you switch it on.
