7 Looks We're Adding to Cart From Melbourne Fashion Festival

In need of a new wardrobe? Shop the best looks from iconic Australian Designers, straight off the Melbourne Fashion Festival runway.

PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival (Par Moi)

Over the past couple of years, Melbourne Fashion Festival has shot up in popularity. While it's still no Milan or Paris Fashion Week, Australian designers are proving their position in the fashion industry as some of the best designers, both across the country and internationally. More and more people are getting involved with the festival, too, with Elle Macpherson making her return to the runway for the first time in 14 years at the Triumphant X PayPal Runway, and Robert Irwin making his runway debut at the Suit Up Runway.

But all the buzz and excitement around Melbourne's Fashion Festival this year isn't just about which celebrities or super models are walking in which shows. The designers participating in the Premium Runways came with a fiery passion reflected in the designs they sent down the runway, and so far, they have not disappointed.

This makes it the perfect opportunity to shop the looks fresh off the runway, so that they're in your wardrobe and ready to go for your next event. Whether you're looking for more workwear or a stunning dress to wear for a special occasion, we've picked out our favourite looks from the Melbourne Fashion Festival that have been shown so far, so it saves you from browsing.

Don't thank us now, do it after you've put on that awe-inspiring runway look that will have people stopping you in the streets.

Aje

Aje Soundscape Maxi Dress, $695

We can't stop fawning over this pastel pink dress from Aje. Known for their attention to detail and ultra-feminine designs, Aje did not disappoint with their latest collection - and this has got to be our favourite from it. It strutted its way down the Triumphant X PayPal Runway and right into our hearts with its horizontal organza frills and classic-yet-flattering silhouette.

Bianca Spender

Bianca Spender White Cotton Andre Shirt, $345

We have a feeling that one of 2024's trends will be repurposing clothes to be worn in ways that they're not quite intended. We saw plenty of back-to-front shirts, one-shoulder tops and asymmetry walk down the runway this Fashion Festival, but we love this one in particular by Bianca Spender. Why, you ask? Because it gives us that same, ultra cool asymmetrical, shirt-like effect, but takes out the hard work of buttoning it up back-to-front without a helper.

Oroton

Oroton Sleeveless Waiters Jacket, $499

Vests have made a huge resurgence, especially tailored variations. They just look so clean, crisp and put-together, despite the minimal effort. We love this Sleeveless Waiters Jacket from Oroton in particular. There's something about the contrasting beige and white that feels so right. Pair it with the matching trousers and you have the perfect day-to-night set that will take you just about anywhere.

Par Moi  has nailed that elevated basic category to a T. All of their pieces are staples that can be worn to a wide array of events, some simple, some bold, but all equally as beautiful. The Gateau Dress is one of Par Moi's classic dress silhouettes, and we're loving the deadstock wool-blend suiting material paired with the ruffle trim. This designer knows how to pair sustainability and fashion perfectly together, and we can't get enough.
