Where You Should Live in Brisbane Based on Your Star Sign

We looked to the stars and asked them to guide our property searches, based on horoscopes.

Trying to decide which locale to call home-sweet-home is a tough decision at the best of times–it’s part of the reason Sitchu came to be! But besides factors like amenities, nightlife (or lack thereof) or green spaces, is there more to consider when selecting your new suburb?

We decided to have a little fun with it and make our own recommendations for where you should live in Brisbane… based on your star sign.

Dearest reader, bear in mind that this is all a bit of fun! For more *seriously* considered guides to Brisbane ‘burbs, head to our Neighbourhood Watch pillar.

Aries (March 21 – April 19): Fortitude Valley

Aries folk can be rather boisterous, and are renowned for being energetic, social and always on the go.

For a fast-paced lifestyle, there are few suburbs better placed to keep up than Fortitude Valley. From a spontaneous night out, chic cocktail bar date night or intimate dining experience, there’s more than enough to keep Aries on their toes and out of (or into) as much trouble as they please.

Similarly, the neighbouring suburb of New Farm has an appeal for the Aries type who prefers brunching to bar hopping, Riverwalking to raving and New Farm Park dates to partying.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Ascot or Paddington

When we think Taurus, we think of a homebody with excellent taste. Someone who enjoys the finer things in life, and does it in style. WE picture Taurus at home in Ascot, in a gorgeous home, with lush green grass and perhaps a Weimaraner.

Paddington is a place that could also speak to Taureans, with cosy cafes, boutique shops and beautiful homes to be at peace in.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): New Farm

The sociable twin sign, Gemini will love a suburb that offers them variety, action and adventure, and New Farm really has this covered.

The open-air cinema or the arts scene at the Powerhouse makes for a fun date night, whilst the bountiful cafes and bars will keep things interesting every day of the week, and provide the perfect destination to meet up and spill the tea (because you know Gemini is impatiently waiting for it!).

These social chameleons need a vibrant and dynamic setting, and New Farm is just the place.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Bulimba

Cancer is another sign that adores their creature comforts and making a house feel like a home. Bulimba’s village-like feel and insular community keeps all their favourite things in close reach.

Whether it’s a low-key date night out to the cinema or a BYO evening at the local Thai, Bulimba is a Brisbane suburb that this water sign feels intrinsically drawn to. The family-friendly appeal isn’t lost on Cancerians, with parks and green spaces, and the river walk with easy ferry access.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): West End or Teneriffe

We can really envision Leos strutting down the streets of West End, popping into cafes with superior coffee that you haven’t even heard of yet. Whether they’re scoring the ultimate statement item at an op shop or boutique, or looking put-together at the West End Markets each weekend, Leo does it with flair… and the world takes notes.

Luxe Leos might lean towards a Teneriffe postcode–a suburb known for its trendy cafes, super bougie gyms and healthy cafes for pit stops (and Insta-worthy moments). But don’t take Leo as shallow, they just like to showcase their signature style, and lead by example.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Wilston

Detail-oriented, organised little Virgos will feel well and truly at home in Wilston. It’s charming village appeal, organic markets, and stunning old Queenslander homes are practically calling out to the Virgos of Brisbane to come home.

Blending practicality with a tidy charm, Wilston also boasts a proximity to the city that’s hard to find, in a suburb that feels so serene.

Libra (September 23 – October 22): Paddington

If you have a Libra in your life, you’ll know them to be a little romantic, sociable and the life of the party. A Libran loves art, culture and surrounding themselves with beauty–whatever version of that suits their unique personality.

With cosy cafes, brunch destinations and restaurants aplenty, Paddington makes a perfect home for a Libra. The homes are aesthetically pleasing and roomy, and the proximity to boutiques and fun vintage stores helps this sign decorate their home (and their wardrobe) in signature flair.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Kangaroo Point

Intense, enigmatic and private, Scorpios will be attracted to suburbs that have an exclusive feel with a touch of drama. Enter: Kangaroo Point.

This CBD-adjacent suburb is home to some discreet, yet luxurious apartments that a Scorpio will surely adorn in their signature edgy style. With the city close by, date nights, power moves and secret missions are made all the easier.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): St Lucia or Wynnum

Sagittarians are always craving adventure, knowledge or escape, and St Lucia is a place where they can surround themselves with like-minded folk. Due to the proximity of the university, the suburb has a youthful and international energy, complemented by plenty of outdoor activities.

Wynnum’s bay breezes and coastal lifestyle also offer plenty of fresh air, walking tracks, and wide open spaces for Sag to stretch their legs and keep their creative juices flowing.

The only downside? It’s not so close to the airport.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): Hamilton

Hardworking little Capricorn belongs in one of Brisbane’s more affluent suburbs, having hustled their way to the top. Capricorn wants something to show for their dedication, because their love for fine things is equal to their ambition to achieve it.

Hamilton’s riverfront penthouses, inner-city suburb proximity and easy route to the airport (for work trips, duh!) make it a suburb any goat sign would be happy to call home.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Woolloongabba

Aquarius needs a suburb that is quirky and full of character… quite like themselves. We think this air sign would feel right at home in Woolloongabba, a suburb full of historic buildings, fun new bars, hidden speakeasies and top-notch restaurants.

Woolloogabba is a suburb that’s on the rise, so Aquarius will revel in being the one in the know, already occupying the next Brissie hotspot… but you’ll never hear a brag out of this aloof air sign. Just knowing is enough for them.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20): Sandgate or Redcliffe

Introspective, dreamy and arty Pisces will feel at peace by the water, so we’d pop them in a breezy home in Sandgate, or perhaps as far as Redcliffe. This coastal ‘burb has their afternoon walk by the water sorted, the one that will clear their head, and help them work through any creative blocks or deep emotional dilemmas.

You might find your Pisces pal daydreaming in a quiet cafe, or with their nose in a book as they sip, but the pace of this northern Brisbane spot will suit them just fine.
