Living in Marcoola
The Locals

Known for its beachy vibes and easy-going nature, living in Marcoola strikes a chord with those keen to slow down and soak up the sunshine. Smack-bang between Noosa and Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Marcoola is so much more than meets the eye. Boasting a scenic stretch of coastline to one side and Mount Coolum National Park to the other, locals like to get out and about. Year-round surfers vie for the perfect wave while hikers and cyclists make the most of parklands and the serene Mount Coolum National Park, where you can hike to the summit for panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast.

Marcoola Twilight Markets and Farmers Markets draw a crowd for their fresh local produce, street food and live music. Fish n’ chips on the beach is a standard fair, with Laughing Lobster being the pick of the bunch. Yet, the string of cafes and restaurants that sit opposite the beach keeps locals well-fuelled. But when locals are craving that bit more, they need only head into neighbouring Maroochydore to get everything they need.

Small but mighty, living in Marcoola offers a handy location that makes it a standout. Home to the Sunshine Coast Airport, which has direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and across the ditch to Auckland, plus quick access to the motorway, makes getting around easy breezy.
