Aptly named to get you into good spirits (figuratively and literally), these are the best of Brisbane’s happy hours across the city.

A cosy and well kept secret of the CBD, Alba combines Brooklyn and San Sebastian into a homey and upbeat bar. Opened in 2019 by Masterchef contestant Jamie Fleming, head into Alba on Monday nights from 5pm for $6 classic cans of beer such as Emu Export and West End lager as well as $10 bowls of South Australian clams. Ideal for lovers of nineties hip-hop, the tunes are always spot on.

With award-winning beers and an incredible sense of community, Ballistic Beer strives to bring a sense of togetherness to their three taproom locations. On Wednesday’s you can find the staff pouring $15 jugs of brewer’s core lager, ale, IPA and table beer. Thursday and Friday nights you can stop by for a burger and beer deal to round out the week nicely.

If a relaxed atmosphere, friendly crowds and karaoke are your vibe, this is the bar for you! A narrow space tucked into the busy noise of the Brunswick Street Mall, Blute’s happy hour runs from 12pm-2pm and 5pm-7pm Wednesday to Sunday. Often hosting live music, Blute’s also serves up delicious pub-style eats, and on Wednesday’s the chicken burgers are half price!

For a room with a view, head to Fiume. With spectacular city and waterfront views, this rooftop bar and terrace also houses a spectacular infinity pool, adding an elevated feel to an already gorgeous location. From 4pm-6pm on Wednesdays through to Friday you can order up an Aperol Spritz and a plate of arancini or eggplant fries for only $18. Fiume’s cocktail list is nothing short of incredible, so you may find yourself lingering for a couple of extra happy hours of your own.

The little sister to Gerard’s Bistro just across the way, Gerard’s Bar is never one to disappoint on a good time. Not only offering delicious mezze plates bites to share, they also happen to run an aperitivo hour every Monday through to Friday from 4pm-7pm… perfect for a post-work pick me up!
