Aptly named to get you into good spirits (figuratively and literally), these are the best of Brisbane’s happy hours across the city.
A cosy and well kept secret of the CBD, Alba combines Brooklyn and San Sebastian into a homey and upbeat bar. Opened in 2019 by Masterchef contestant Jamie Fleming, head into Alba on Monday nights from 5pm for $6 classic cans of beer such as Emu Export and West End lager as well as $10 bowls of South Australian clams. Ideal for lovers of nineties hip-hop, the tunes are always spot on.
34 Burnett Lane, Brisbane
With award-winning beers and an incredible sense of community, Ballistic Beer strives to bring a sense of togetherness to their three taproom locations. On Wednesday’s you can find the staff pouring $15 jugs of brewer’s core lager, ale, IPA and table beer. Thursday and Friday nights you can stop by for a burger and beer deal to round out the week nicely.

If a relaxed atmosphere, friendly crowds and karaoke are your vibe, this is the bar for you! A narrow space tucked into the busy noise of the Brunswick Street Mall, Blute’s happy hour runs from 12pm-2pm and 5pm-7pm Wednesday to Sunday. Often hosting live music, Blute’s also serves up delicious pub-style eats, and on Wednesday’s the chicken burgers are half price!
Ground Floor, 322 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley
For a room with a view, head to Fiume. With spectacular city and waterfront views, this rooftop bar and terrace also houses a spectacular infinity pool, adding an elevated feel to an already gorgeous location. From 4pm-6pm on Wednesdays through to Friday you can order up an Aperol Spritz and a plate of arancini or eggplant fries for only $18. Fiume’s cocktail list is nothing short of incredible, so you may find yourself lingering for a couple of extra happy hours of your own.
The Fantauzzo, 5 Boundary Street, Brisbane
The little sister to Gerard’s Bistro just across the way, Gerard’s Bar is never one to disappoint on a good time. Not only offering delicious mezze plates bites to share, they also happen to run an aperitivo hour every Monday through to Friday from 4pm-7pm… perfect for a post-work pick me up! Choose from $7 house wines or Asahi Super Dry, or it's hard to look past the $8 Aperol Spritz; Brisbane’s favourite summer time drink.

Specialising in aesthetic pleasures and good times, Super Whatnot is a bar we dare not leave off the list! Starting from 3pm, you can enjoy $7 schooners of Mismatch tap beer or $7 glasses of tempranillo or sauvignon blanc. Enjoy the in-house DJ’s spinning tracks whilst dining on tasty morsels like tacos, quesadillas or scallop ceviche. Happy hour finishes at 6pm, so either stay and enjoy the tunes or explore the other secreted away treasures Burnett Lane has to offer!
