Ready your knife and fork because Adelaide’s premium food festival is back this autumn. The sights, sounds, smells and flavours of Tasting Australia return across multiple South Australian destinations from the 3rd to the 12th of May. Headquartering in the Town Square location of Victoria Square North/ Tarntanyangga, the event has a jam-packed line up of foodie events including masterclasses, special talks and feasts galore.

Soi 38

Soi 38 x Porkfat: Bangkok to Sydney to Adelaide

Two iconic Thai restaurants in Australia, Soi 38 and Porkfat, are coming together for one very special lunch: Bangkok to Sydney to Adelaide. Porkfat chef, Narin ‘Jack’ Kulasai will be joining the Soi 38 tam in a celebration of Thai cuisine, bringing a bespoke four course meal to attendees, with paired beverages for each course. Porkfat is currently dominating Sydney's food scene and is one of the best Australian restaurants at the moment, so there's no better opportunity for Adelaideans to experience a taste of the restaurant in their home town.

OzHarvest: Dinner With Purpose

OzHarvest is partnering with Adelaide Oval to deliver a Dinner with Purpose. South Australian Museum senior geologist Ben McHenry will tell you about Adelaide Hills' typography while you indulge in a four course dinner, paired with wines from the Adelaide Hills region. For a unique dining and wining experience, head to Adelaide Hills Chardonnay Heroes. When we say this five course dinner is not one to miss, we mean it. The Parkside Hotel is hosting a Parkside Dinner, inspired by Adelaide Hills lamb. As you've probably guessed, this dinner is filled with all things lamb. Start off with a saltbush damper before getting started on lamb croquettes, glazed lamb cutlet, sous vide and seared lamb rump, and finish off with a sheep’s milk yoghurt brulée for dessert. If lamb is your go-to meat, this is the dinner for you.

Flavours of the Market

Want to participate in tasting Australia, but don't want to spend a pretty penny? You'll love Flavours of the Market at Adelaide Central Market. It's on both Fridays of Tasting Australia, and there's no shortage of activities to do while you're here. From cooking demonstrations from food waste advocate and MasterChef alum Mandy Hall to kids activities and an audio tour, this is the place to be for any food lover. There's also live music to keep you entertained while you wander through the market!

This event is any pizza lover's dream - and it certainly helps that it's only $60. Pizza Pizza Seltzer is exactly what it sounds like: a celebration of pizza, seltzer and more pizza. Bite into three pizza courses during this dinner at The Flour Shed at Hart's Mill, and wash it down with the two seltzers you'll get to try during the dinner: Gangurru native river mint and watermelon, and native lime and strawberry. It's a unique, comforting-yet-refreshing experience you'll be sore to miss.

We all know and love the classic paint and sip - but this one has a unique, boozy twist. Instead of painting canvases, Mallee Estate is giving you two wine glasses to paint during your two hour, self-guided Paint and Sip. Let your imagination run wild and paint whatever you choose while you indulge in an endless stream of wine and cocktails alongside some delicious dips topped with feta and garlic oil. Cocktail Making Class

There's never a bad time to brush up on your cocktail-making skills. Next Door Cocktail Bar and Prohibition Liquor Co have teamed up to deliver a gin cocktail making class that's bound to be a fun time for all involved. 2KW's Agave Evolution

Go on an immersive, agave-filled journey at 2KW, who is hosting an Agave Evolution during Tasting Australia in Adelaide. During this hour and a half session, an expert mixologist will teach you how to decipher and appreciate all the different types of agave, and you'll even be able to enjoy two different cocktails. You'll also learn how to make multiple different types of cocktails using the spirit, so you'll be going home with a head full of new creations to mix up.
