Arrow Brick House

What’s better than a laidback beach trip with your dog? Quite simply, nothing – and one of the primo spots for a coastal getaway is Tassie’s iconic Bay of Fires region. With white-sand bays lining the state’s north-east coastline, you’ll have a great time beach-hopping by day. The Edge at Binalong Bay is the perfect dog-friendly place to base yourself, with this beach the gateway to the Bay of Fires stretch. Brickendon Estate

Brickendon Estate

UNESCO-listed property Brickendon Estate is just 20 minutes from Launceston, but you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back centuries in time when you visit. Run by the seventh generation of original owners the Archer family, the property is rich in convict history, complete with an 1820s farm village consisting of a chapel, blacksmith’s shop, cookhouse and barns. There’s several accommodation options including three convict-built cottages and three newer builds made from recycled timber – and some of these happen to be dog-friendly accommodation (make sure you enquire when booking!). Leash up your pup to explore the grounds and heritage gardens or take the beautiful country walk to the neighbouring Woolmers Estate.
