CARLINGFORD

GET TO KNOW
THE AREA

Carlingford is considered the secret jewel of Sydney’s northwest and a welcoming, tranquil neighbourhood to be a part of. Carlingford is known for its sprawling homes, heritage buildings, fantastic schooling options, and wide, tree-lined streets.

Part of Carlingford’s family-friendly appeal stems from its line-up of schools, including one of the city’s top-rated schools, James Ruse Agricultural School. The Kings School is right next door and Macquarie University, Charles Stuart University and Western Sydney University are close at hand.

Carlingford also has recreational clubs and plenty of well-kept parks and playgrounds, many of which have walking tracks and sporting fields.

Lifestyle

Families are moving here in droves thanks to the attractive, rounded lifestyle on offer – a choice of great schools, lots of parklands for weekends and after-school sports, and plenty of shopping and restaurants. Carlingford is 22-kilometres north-west of Sydney’s CBD, and falls within the City of Parramatta, meaning it’s got a suburban feel but residents can hold jobs in Parramatta or central Sydney.

The main shopping areas are located along Pennant Hills Road, which runs through the suburb and also offers a commute into the city, with two shopping centres, Carlingford Court and Carlingford Village. While the big chains dominate, there are also many independent shops and for more choice, Parramatta and other big shopping centres are nearby.

Team sports are well catered for, with several big ovals. These include Murray Farm Reserve, which has baseball and soccer fields, North Rocks Tennis Centre, and Kingsdene Oval for AFL and rugby.

Like much of Sydney, Carlingford is great for dining out, with a buzzing restaurant and café scene, and lots of variety. It’s also a relatively easy commute to Parramatta or the CBD for work. Homes tend to be large, with pools and lush gardens, and streets are leafy and quiet, making this a popular place to settle into family life.

With excellent schools, a peaceful suburban feel that still puts you within reach of Sydney’s CBD, and some lovely family houses, Carlingford is an area that offers a great lifestyle and a smart investment opportunity.

Neighbours

According to the 2021 census, the average age of a Carlingford resident is 38 years old. Residents are predominantly educated professionals, with many Chinese families choosing to live here.

The area’s wide choice of schools, some selective, make it an increasingly popular choice for families seeking high-quality education for their children. As families buy the suburb’s stock of big homes on generous blocks, downsizers are moving on to some of the new apartments that are appearing in the area.
