The Best Bars in Pyrmont for a Guaranteed Good Time
Here's our pick of the best bars in Pyrmont, fit for a Sunday sesh, date night, or after-work drinks.
Known for so much more than its glitzy Star City Casino (although BLACK Bar & Grill in the Star does get an honourable mention), Pyrmont's former industrial hub is home to an eclectic mix of slick watering holes and cocktail dens, serving up some of the best tipples around.
Stylish hangouts grace the roofs of old English pubs, and cosy wine bars have set up camp in historic buildings from the 1700s.
Here's our pick of the best bars in the Pyrmont precinct, fit for a Sunday sesh, date night, or after-work drinks with a side of live music.
Terminus Hotel
Opening in 1841 and last in operation in the 1980s, Terminus Hotel is one of Pyrmont’s historic watering holes. Retaining much of its original features with some welcome modern upgrades, the public bar pours the local’s favourite craft beers.
The menu is nothing short of delectable with standouts including the lamb shank with mash and roasted vegetables, the Angus beef burger and the ricotta mini donuts for dessert. For Sunday sundowners, the courtyard is the place to be.

The Rooftop
Quarryman’s Rooftop always delivers and deserves a solo spot in a guide to the best bars in Pyrmont. Inspired by Palm Springs, it’s pastels, timber floors, plush furnishings and lush greenery, plus a cacti garden on each table (naturally).
The cocktail list is excellent, too. On sunny days, the hazy margarita with tequila blanco, mezcal, lime juice, Cointreau, and guava nectar hits the spot.
If you're peckish, their menu is perfect for sharing (think tacos, buffalo wings and charcuterie).
214-216 Harris Street, Pyrmont
Bar Zini
Reflective of Pyrmont’s laid-back yet hospitable attitude, this is a venue that keeps on giving.
By day, Bar Zini is a cafe serving delicious breakfast staples and great coffee to fuel the day ahead. By night, they effortlessly transform the space into a chic wine bar slash restaurant with a menu inspired by classic Italian dishes.

The Quarryman's
If you're after the OG pub experience, head downstairs from the Rooftop to find The Quarryman's. This old-school pub has retained its original exterior feel with wooden floorboards and exposed brick walls throughout – all nods to the area’s working-class roots.
Here at the Quarryman Hotel, they have craft beer on tap and a pub menu that’s brimming with the classics. Steak and chips, anyone?
214-216 Harris Street, Pyrmont
Sokyo Bar
There is more to Sokyo Bar at The Star than delicious, award-winning food. Sokyo Bar thoughtfully pairs expertly crafted cocktails with their delicate Japanese menu.
The cocktail menu plays on traditional, seasonal flavours with added Japanese flair, but their specialty is Japanese whiskey, beer and sake.
We'd also recommend something off their signature cocktails list because it's all amazing... but if you only pick one, make it the Taiyou-Rise, a sharp and refreshing cocktail of Yuzu saké, ruby red grapefruit, lemongrass, and elderflower.
80 Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont
Gallon
Set in a historic building from the 1800s, Gallon is one of the best bars in Pyrmont that exudes charm and character – from the rustic-chic interiors to the courtyard garden.
They have an impressive wine list that pairs nicely with the gourmet pizza and share plates. If you're after something lighter, the menu is expansive with hummus, grilled chicken salad, and falafel salad also on offer.
117 Harris Street, Pyrmont
Mister Percy
A neighbourhood wine bar that is passionate about pouring a thoughtful collection of boutique local and international drops, Mister Percy is one of the best bars in Pyrmont.
Their Spanish-inspired menu is ideal for sharing, showcasing classic Mediterranean flavours and dishes that pair well with the impressive wine list.

Pyrmont Bridge Hotel
Neatly tucked between Darling Harbour and The Star, Pyrmont Bridge Hotel is a beloved late-night haunt for those in the know.
The bar and bistro offer weekly specials ranging from nachos on Mexican Mondays to curries and fish cakes on Thai Thursdays - meaning every night could be a new cuisine!
The pub pops off on the weekends and the rooftop terrace has a stunning view of the harbour, making this one of the best beers in Pyrmont from drinks with a view.
