APPLECROSS
GET TO KNOW
THE AREA
Flanked by the Swan River and Canning Highway, and with superb views of the river and Perth’s CBD, it’s no wonder Applecross is a mecca for the affluent.
Located just a few kilometres from the city via the nearby Mitchell Freeway, the locals are in the enviable position of being near Perth’s urban centre and historic Fremantle while having the river and a thriving café culture on their doorstep.
Lifestyle
Applecross spans for just three kilometres, much of which borders the Swan River, further adding to this tiny suburb’s exclusivity. More than half of Applecross’ properties are architecturally designed mansions on generously sized blocks, often on streets lined with Jacarandas overlooking the river. Many of these divine homes are owned outright, while the remaining residents have opted for simpler living in townhouses and villas while still having direct access to the lifestyles of the rich and sometimes famous.
An idyllic lifestyle is to be had by anyone fortunate enough to call Applecross home with its wide range of excellent cafes, bars and restaurants along Ardross Street and Canning Highway. The iconic Raffles Hotel and Bluewater Bistro attract patrons far and wide for their riverside locations and status.

HEATHCOTE RESERVE
Famed for its pirate ship playground, the Heathcote Reserve is a popular spot for picnics, walking trails, café and the Heathcote Cultural Precinct housing a museum, gallery and artist studios. This elevated reserve offers sweeping views of the Swan River and city and is also home to the superb Bluewater Bistro.
BEACH LIFE
Deemed one of Perth’s finest yacht clubs, South of Perth Yacht Club offers a wide range of sailing, powerboating and social events. You can also learn to sail at the Sailing Academy and then celebrate at the onsite Quarterdeck, Yachties Bar and Barnacle Bar to the backdrop of the city and Swan River.
FISHING AT THE JETTY
Cast a line off the Applecross Jetty and try your luck for black bream, flathead, tailor, yellowfin whiting, crabs and river prawns. Cook your catch of the day at the onsite BBQs and then devour your fortune with spectacular views. It can get busy sometimes, so the Majestic Boardwalk Jetty and Raffles Jetty are other nearby options.
GREEN OPEN SPACES
With several courts perched on the river’s edge, the Applecross Tennis Club would have to be one of the most picturesque tennis clubs in Perth. Many come for a social game and the views, while zealots will join for year-round memberships and a lively social life.
JACARANDA SEASON
Adorning Applecross’ streets in lavender each November, the annual Rotary Jacaranda Festival attracts thousands to admire the blooms and enjoy over 100 stalls offering food, artisan goods, and kids’ entertainment. Even if you can’t make it to the festival, many visit Applecross’ Jacaranda season with a takeaway coffee in hand.
