Seafood eateries, restaurants and takeaway joints along Landsborough Avenue and around Scarborough Marina are a testament to that, with many travelling to Scarborough for the day to get a taste of the finger-licking goodness.

Scarborough is also a haven for growing families – foreshore parks with fenced-in playgrounds, sports playing fields and a beach once named 'Australia's Friendliest Beach'. Then there is the line-up of schools on the Redcliffe Peninsula that caters to local demand.

The village along Landsborough Avenue is intimate, with many establishments taking advantage of alfresco seating, but if you're after greater variety, you only need to wander down to neighbouring Redcliffe. Away from the harbour, family homes line levelled streets, some weatherboard, others rendered brick, but most boast yards that are fit for leisurely weekend barbeques. And although weekenders love to pop in for a visit, for the lucky few, Scarborough is a place to call home.
