Best in Home Design: Online Shopping Stores with Designer Décor we Love
Lust-worthy interiors at the click of a button, here is our edit of the best in home design online shopping.
When it comes to interiors, nothing beats browsing a collection in-store. Not least to feel the tactile textures of fabrics and handmade ceramics, but also to get an idea of scale – you don't want to wind up with a dinner table that won't get through your front door!
But when some of your favourite homeware stores are scattered up and down the country, it can be difficult to find the time to visit, let alone browse. Luckily there are plenty of gorgeous boutiques selling their wares on the web. So you can shop till you drop, without so much as a car journey in sight.
To help you with your digital shopping adventures (read: addiction), we’ve rounded up the best in home design online shopping where you can browse from the comfort of your sofa for everything from textiles to tableware.
Jones & Co
Fill your homes with beautifully crafted wares from the creative ceramics brand Jones & Co. All designed locally and then handcrafted by artisans around the world, you will fall in love with their range of vases, tableware, planters, and decorative accessories.
If you're in the market for a vase or planter to support your plant obsession, may we suggest their Nude Collection. Celebrating the beauty of the human body, each piece is equal parts cute and naughty.
Fenton & Fenton
Founded by Lucy Fenton, cult store Fenton & Fenton has become a design destination with serious style cred. Inspired by her own globe-trotting adventures, Lucy's unique store is a treasure trove of one-off finds, beautiful furniture, statement artwork and bold textiles sourced from near and far. Perusing their online store is like a trip to a virtual art gallery – they represent over 30 Australian artists, including the likes of Billie Justice Thomson and Casey Burrill.
Part interiors boutique, part art mecca – a shopping trip to Fenton & Fenton will leave your home looking wildly maximalist yet still effortlessly chic.
Greenhouse Interiors
Greenhouse Interiors is your one-stop shop for all things home. Their website says it all –“We stand against the uniform to give you colour, style and personality for your home”. And that’s exactly what you can expect from their gorgeous, bold range of boutique designer art, textiles, homewares and furniture.
Not only are they at the forefront of cutting edge design, but they’re also forging new ground in the interior-tech space, too. Their 3D Art-App uses augmented reality to offer life-like representations of what their artworks look like on your wall. It’s basically a try before you buy tool, and we’re all over it.
JUMBLED
The number one rule of online store JUMBLED is to “only stock things that make your heart sing.” While this might sound very Kondo-esque, we can assure you after browsing this gorgeously curated site that everything, in fact, does spark joy. Their site is categorised by room, so you can work your way around the home adding as many things to your cart as you please (or that your credit card will allow).
Their colourful and eclectic aesthetic will have you injecting your home with crazy (yet totally tasteful) patterns and playful interiors in no time.
Hello Trader
If you're one of the lucky ones living on the Sunshine Coast, you'll know (and regularly frequent) gorgeous concept store Hello Trader. But for those who don't, browsing their collection can prove a little trickier. Hardcore fans, however, can head to their website to peruse their beautifully sourced treasures, most of which are handcrafted by local and international artisans.
Stocking everything from stunning textiles like antique Moroccan rugs to homewares and furniture (hello, rattan!), as well as a range of artwork from a Sitchu fave, Bonnie Gray. Oh, and be careful – they have a category on their site called Trinkets; a.k.a. things you never knew you needed but definitely want to buy.
Designstuff
This Scandi focused store is where beautiful interiors and craftsmanship collide. The incredible stylists behind the brand meticulously sift and curate products that are rich with quality, and only stock handpicked items knowing exactly how they’re made and the story behind them.
Spending time on their beautiful pastel pink site is an absolute pleasure, even if you’re only window shopping through your screen. They cover the basics; bed, bathrooms, kitchens – but some of the other categories really catching our eye include Luxury Tech, Eco-Living and their Staff Picks.
Temple and Webster
This Aussie online homewares store bridges the gap between price and style. Temple & Webster's affordable range of homewares has everything from cool lighting and plush rugs, to stylish throws and fashion-forward furniture. Better still, if you sign up as a subscriber you get $20 off your first purchase. Now, that's value!
Elms Store
The founder behind the gorgeous lifestyle store and gallery space in Surry Hills, Rebecca Elms, teaches people to become more mindful about what they bring into their life, and to fill their space with items they’ll appreciate for years to come. Everything she stocks in her online store – be it the lush cushion collection or the sumptuous candles – will have your home looking (and smelling) completely divine.
The Design Hunter
Curated by popular Sydney based design studio The Designory, this unique store stocks an expertly crafted collection of homewares, from gorgeous designer lighting to beautiful bedding and furniture. They even have a section where you can shop the products they’ve used in the properties they've styled. Pretty cool, right?
This genius shoppable feature makes it super simple to decorate and style your home. If you need any extra help with styling or redecorating, The Designory offer additional services such as spatial planning and renovating.
OPUS Design Store
When OPUS launched in 1968, there was no such thing as online shopping. Fast forward 50 years and their humble bricks and mortar has transformed into a wonderful online space. If you do want to go old-school and see their products in the flesh, head to their beautiful store in Paddington, Sydney. But for those who would rather let their fingers do the walking, their site will more than deliver.
It’s foremost a gift store, so keep your eye out for quirky books, games, tech and gorgeous homewares, that will make you want to buy something ‘just because.’ They also stock a range of soft furnishings, art and décor that we guarantee you'll want to keep for yourself.
Life Interiors
Take our word for it; Life Interiors will change your life. It’s one of those shops that will make you feel like an interior guru –everything you pick is totally stylish. You’ll find everything from modern and unique furniture to lighting and homewares to fuel your shopping addiction.
Amazon
An e-commerce giant, Amazon may not be the first place you think to look for stylish homewares. Their online-only approach means that their digital store is extremely fleshed out, comprehensive and interactive. Not only do they stock organisational knick-knacks and revolutionary tech, but you'll find decorative accessories, soft furnishings and innovative lighting solutions to suit any kind of home.
