A Luxury Guide to Staying in Palm Beach

Palm Beach, at the tip of Sydney’s Northern Beaches peninsula, is where Sydney’s top wheelers and dealers come to play. Sun-loving days with the glistening waters of Pittwater on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, Palm Beach is the epitome of Australian beach life that folks from far-off places can only dream about. For Sydneysiders, ‘Palmy’ is as much a weekend getaway as it is a place to call home. Here's our guide to the most luxurious places in Palm Beach.

The Boathouse

Sitting pretty on Pittwater, The Boathouse is a destination within itself and a highly sought-after venue for garden chic parties by the beach. Open for breakfast and lunch only, this Insta-worthy café doesn’t take reservations, so arrive early to grab a table with water views and to get your fill of some incredibly delicious wholesome food.

Barrenjoey Lighthouse Walk

Forming part of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Barrenjoey Head is at the tip of the peninsula and is Palm Beach’s crown jewel. Take the trail up to the working lighthouse which has incredible views of the coastline, Pittwater and beyond. This is one of the best places to spot whales during migration season and watch a sunset.

The best way to experience this natural playground is by boat. Cruise the waters, catch a ferry or kayak your way across to popular picnic and camping spots – Ettalong, Patonga, Coasters Retreat or Great Mackerel Beach. Don’t have your own equipment? Not a problem, there are plenty of places where you can hire equipment for the day.
