The coffee is absolutely top notch and the food is second to none, with meals made from local and seasonal produce. There’s also fresh artisanal loaves and pasta to buy for your home pantry. Alcove truly has a warm and homey atmosphere that will keep you coming back for more.

Okay, you might have been to Billykart already. But it’s one of Brisbane’s best brunch spots, so it had to make the cut. With two locations, you can choose to hit the inner suburbs at Billykart West End, or keep it suburban at Billykart Kitchen in Annerley. Either way, you’re guaranteed a fresh and flavoursome breakfast, that’s also a little bit fancy. Our pick is the housemade crumpets, served with honeycomb butter.

Set in the charming suburb of Graceville, Goodness Gracious is a long-standing favourite for the local neighbourhood. Serving up a full and ever-changing menu of creative meals that fuse flavour and style, they also boast a fully stocked cabinet of baked goodies (including a whole row of gluten-free delicacies). GG is the perfect place to catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in months, and to linger over a latte. Bring your pooch - puppies are very welcome!

Tucked inside the cottage garden nursery in East Brisbane, The Smug Fig is a cool, cosy and relaxing spot to brunch with a special someone or with a group of your nearest and dearest. Serving up all-day brunch, with vegetarian and vegan options, this cafe is an easy crowd-pleaser when you’re ready to make weekend plans.

Bowen Hills has a new foodie addition - veg style! Plant Vibes is Brisbane’s newest vegan breakfast and lunch spot, in a beautiful and bright location with the most gorgeous decor. Natural fibres, pink hues and the coolest prints are at every turn. We came for the Black Forest Waffles and stayed for the ginger spritzers.

Perhaps not your traditional brunching location, but that’s what makes Soho Gardens all the more pleasing! Unassumingly tacked onto the Fairfield Gardens shopping centre, the decor is bright, open and airy, making it the perfect spot for a summer brunch. They also have a fully stocked bar serving great wine and cocktails…So, you can make brunch a boozy one?

In the very beautiful suburb of Brookfield, the Wild Canary Bistro is a botanically minded bistro situated within the Brookfield Gardens. Meaning, you can shop the luxurious home, garden and decor items once you’ve eaten your fill! Serving Allpress coffee and an interesting menu (camel milk pannacotta, anyone?), this is certainly a step away from your usual city cafe. They’re also famous for their cakes, so make sure you bring your sweet tooth.
