Frozen

Transport yourself to the snowy kingdom of Arendelle just in time for Christmas. Frozen brings the charming movie to life in a hit Broadway musical that will delight viewers young and old. An all-Australian cast plays beloved characters Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff, who belt out all your favourite numbers (plus brand-new tunes), aided by whizz-bang tricks and theatrical puppets. You’re guaranteed to be singing along for weeks.

Chalkface

In a farcical new black comedy from multi-award-winning Australian writer Angela Betzien (Total Control, Mortido), audiences will get a sneak peek into one of society’s biggest secrecies: the teachers’ staff room. Pat (played by Catherine McClements) is a long-serving, cynical primary school teacher who isn’t afraid to tell it how it is: all kids are pests; her colleagues just as bad and the school would be better named a circus. Creatures of habit, the tired teachers of St Jude’s find themselves jolted awake by the arrival of a young and enthusiastic new teacher, Anna Park, a recent graduate known as “the child whisperer”.

Sunshine Super Girl

A love letter to the power of spirit and passion over adversity, this uplifting tribute tells the story of Wiradjuri Australian tennis legend Evonne Goolagong Cawley. Hers is a quintessentially Blak Australian story about a girl from the bush who dared to dream, and with the unlikely support of an outback farming town, rose to become the No. 1 tennis player in the world. With its distinctive Australian sensibility and humour, Sunshine Super Girl asks us to consider our nation’s future and the part we can play for the next ‘Goolagong’ waiting in the wings.

On by Circa

Roll up, roll up!

Circa Contemporary Circus, one of the world’s leading performance companies, returns with their new show, On by Circa. Artistic Director Yaron Lifschitz explores the gift of weight that lies at the heart of acrobatics. Blurring the lines between movement, dance, theatre and circus, stage elements have been reduced to their most essential: seven extraordinary acrobats, a score by Melbourne composer Jethro Woodward and a striking lighting design. Layering complex acrobatic sequences with sharp moments of close-up intimacy, the ensemble creates a stripped-back circus of the heart that’s uncompromisingly bold and unashamedly athletic.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Countdown

Countdown walked so Spotify could run. Taking you on a trip back in time, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Countdown paints the picture of 1970s Australia. Where Sunday nights were spent on the couch and Molly Meldrum was the country’s MC, this hilariously nostalgic stage show is a celebration and satire of the songs and acts Australia grew up with – think Skyhooks, Sherbert, JPY, The Knack, Gary Numan and much more!

Cruel Intentions

Based on the acclaimed film starring Reese Witherspoon comes a story of betrayal, blackmail, manipulation, and reluctant romance. The ultimate ‘90s throwback, Cruel Intentions draws you into the Machiavellian world of Manhattan’s most tempting liaisons. Sebastian and Kathryn are seduced by revenge and fuelled by passion. Set out to ravage the virtuous Annette Hargrove and anyone who gets in their way, the siblings find themselves entangled in a web of secrets, temptation, and the cruellest game of all: love.

9 to 5 The Musical

Many of us know 9 to 5 as the kind-hearted 80s classic that brought three of our favourite female icons together on the silver screen. Now, the witty, cult-favourite has been transformed into a West-End sensation that hits Adelaide’s Festival Theatre in October. Every bit as glitzy, glamorous, and mischievous as the country queen herself, the musical features an all-star Australian cast (Marina Prior is sassy career woman Violet Newstead), knock-out songs and high-flying ambitions.
