Steeped in Australian sporting history, Markdale is the place where the Ashton Brothers formed the polo team that put Australia on the polo world stage. 6000 acres of rugged landscape is your playground and just 80km’s northwest of Goulburn it acts as a fantastic base from which to explore this NSW region. Amaroo Cottage Farm Stay, Central Tablelands

A family operated, 760-hectare farm 25 minutes south of Bathurst is a striking property on the Central Tablelands of NSW. Guests are encouraged (if they so desire) to join in with the daily activities across the farm, or to sit back and take in the scenery. Wildlife is abundant in the area so don’t be too surprised if you catch a goanna or an echidna ambling about the place, and you can also get involved with the farm animals with mustering and sheep sheering for a taste of the farmer’s life. Amaroo Cottage sleeps up to 8 guests across three bedrooms and has a fully equipped kitchen and barbeque facilities.
